The adductor longus is a large, fan-shaped muscle and is the most anteriorly placed of the adductor group of the medial compartment of the thigh.

The medial compartment of the thigh consists of the adductor group which consists of the adductor longus, adductor brevis, adductor magnus, gracilis, and obturator externus.

The triangular long adductor arises by a strong tendon from the anterior aspect of the body of the pubis, just inferior to the pubic tubercle (apex of triangle), and expands to attach to the linea aspera of the femur (base of triangle), in so doing, it covers the anterior aspects of the adductor brevis and the middle of the adductor magnus.

Origin	Anterior surface of body of pubis, just lateral to pubic symphysis
Insertion	Middle third of linea aspera, between the more medial adductor magnus and brevis insertions and the more lateral origin of the vastus medialis
Innervation	Anterior division of obturator nerve (L2, L3, L4)
Blood Supply	Obturator artery and medial circumflex femoral artery
Action	Adducts and flexes the thigh, helps to laterally rotate the hip joint
